Taiwan - Hualian

Day 6- Hualian

Initially, we were struggling whether to go to Kenting on this day. However,  the Lian Hua Typhoon had forced us to cancel our plan. So, we traveled directly to Hualian. We boarded on the 10.00 a.m. train and arrived Hualian station at 4.00 p.m. I bought a bento from the station. It taste real good. I picked the 80TWD bento. While I was on the train, I played UNO with a Taiwanese boy. He was too bored and his parents were too tired to play with me. We had some international game on the train. It was fun while we synchronise the rules.

Upon our arrival, we called the host. The host picked us up at the station. The host is a young sweet lady. She is very nice to us. Besides, we have a free upgrade for our room as we decided to stay a day more in Hualian. The host gave me the food hunting map. The food map can be obtained by clicking the link. Our first stop is Zhou Jia Jiang Jiao ( 周家蒸饺), the queue was long. Initially, we planned to go to Gong Zheng Bao Zi (公正包子)but it was closed.

The meat dumpling

Our second stop is Mr. Goose. The food is nice but I am not really like their service. The waiters were not friendly. Maybe there were too many customers to serve.

Lu Rou Fan (卤肉饭)

We were full and we walked around the township. It was lucky for us to bump into the Hualian Carnival. We listened to free concert. I met two singers that I admired the most -  Jess Lee and JJ.

Jess Lee's Performance

JJ's performance. This is the climax of the whole carnival.

This device was found inside the cheering tube. The device will light up when it vibrates.

Happy Me :)

Day 7 - Hualian

We reserved a day tour with the host. After eating the breakfast, we departed. The host even prepared us with fruit so that we would be hungry throughout the journey. The one day tour costs 320 0 TWD.

Me with the orange juice. I became darker sue to the continuous exposure of sunlight.

The famous Hualian lemon juice. If you love sour taste, you will love this beverage.

A day out under the sun.

Auntie Ling gave us the rain coat and we were not sure when to where it. So, we took off the raincoats for at least 2 times. It was quite embarrassing. Ps. Do not wear skirt while hiking ><

We went back to the hotel at 5pm. We took a walk to the town area and bought some souvenir. We went back home early as we would be taking an early train to Taipei the next day. Remember to buy your ticket to Taipei beforehand as it may be fully booked.

Haha, I forgot all the names of the places ><. Hope you guys will forgive me.  This is the link to the recommended hostel.
