Taiwan - Tainan

Day 5- Taiwan
Initially, we planned to take a trip to Alishan. However, we decided to modify our trip. So, we went for food hunt in Tainan. We bought an one day pass from 7 eleven once we reached Tainan. The bus ticket costs 120 TWD.

Our first stop in Tainan Confucian temple. A little walk in Fu Zhong Street brought us to the 2 元黑輪. The normal sticks cost 2 TWD while sticks with red mark cost 5 TWD. Even though the price is cheap, I did not really like the service. The cashier and waiter were not friendly. The cashier raised up her voice slightly when we put the stick onto the table. Seeing the exaggerate reaction of the cashier and the sticks,  I came out the conclusion that the sticks may be reused.

Disappointing 2 元黑輪
Our second stop is Fort Provintia. The entry fee costs 20 TWD. If you love historical place, then this will be a great place for you.

I was excited when I saw my family name  printed on the board.
Opposite the Fort Provintia, there is a store named 浮水魚羹. We went to try their famous dish. Honestly, I love the dish. The soup is sticky. It tastes a bit sour due to the vinegar. The fish crumbs are firm and nice.

After finish eating, we saw a long queue in front of a shop. Long queue serves good food. The store serves winter melon tea. The winter melon tea was my saviour in this hot summer. A sip of it leads me to Heaven. If you do not have a sweet teeth, then, you may find it a bit too sweet for you. For me, the sweetness is just appropriate. We planed to buy some of the melon bricks back home. We were told that we have to wait until October for restock. I was shocked as it was just the beginning of July.

義豐冬瓜茶
Our third stop is 永樂市場. The bus stop name is 水仙宮. We went there for food hunt. I love this fried oyster. This is so far the best fried oyster that I had ever eaten in Taiwan. Haha. Most of the fried oyster in Taiwan tense to be a bit too crispy. (correct me, if I wrongly stated) There are numerous amount of oysters and they tasted so fresh. This is the fried oyster that I ought to.

石精臼蚵仔煎
I love this shrimp meat ball. The shrimp inside is huge and fresh. Moreover, there is a beautiful lady who served us with her beautiful smile.

蝦仁肉圓
I love the soup of this bihun. It tastes so fresh without any additive.

小卷米粉
This is said to be the famous rice bowl in the town. However, for me, it does not impress me much. Maybe rice bowl is not my bowl of food. Still, I recommended you to try it.

富勝號碗粿
Our forth stop is 神農街  (Xiang Nong Jie). That place is famous for its traditional building. However, the weather was not good that day. It rained heavily upon our arrival. So, we did not manage to take any good photo. A good uncle from this ice cream store gave us the shelter. So, I ordered an red bean ice cream from the store. Thank you, uncle. :)

Since the weather was not good, we decided to have an eye tour on the bus. At the last stop, the bus driver allowed us to go to the beach for 10 minutes. After saying goodbye to the beach, we boarded on the bus. We had a satisfactory adventure that day. With heavy and tired footsteps, we went back to our hostel in Kaoshiung.
